What Will Tested?
Students will be tested to assess understanding of what latitude and longitude are. Special lines of latitude and longitude will be assessed, including the Equator, the Prime Meridian, the Tropic of Cancer, and the Tropic of Capricorn. Students should be able to label a globe or map with these items, including the cardinal directions (North, South, East, and West). Most ancient civilizations began in the region between the two tropic lines because of the favorable climates found there.
