Today we read about the claims that Tut's curse was real. We then wrote our response of whether we believed in the curse or not.

Today we read about Cyrus the Great and answered some questions about him. We then played a game to understand what "bartering" is. Mr. Frenzel then shared about the time he was almost arrested in Mexico.
We learned about King Hammurabi and his stele of posted laws. We looked at some of his laws and compared them to modern ones.
Today we learned what mythology is and then performed a class Readers Theater on the Epic of Gilgamesh.
Today we wrote down the difference between polytheism (many gods) and monotheism (one god). We also drew a picture of the Mesopotamian social class pyramid. The rest of class was time to work on our maps.

Today we looked at the virtual tour of the Lascaux Cave in France. What is the bird on a stick? Duck shish kebob? We also chipped artifacts out of ice in preparation for tomorrow's lesson.
We watched a short clip that demonstrated how important fire was as a tool of early humans. We also looked at some flint tools. Most importantly, we saw how difficult it was to capture food thanks to the over-dramatization of the Croods.
Today we read from the Nat Geo books about prehistory and early humans. We began our study guides with the words nomad, hunter-gatherer, and Mr. Frenzel told some quick stories.
Today we reviewed everything from the unit and played some practice games. Test is tomorrow!
Mr. Frenzel returned from his meetings and we reviewed in preparation for the Geography test.
